Hockey 1

Hockey 1 is designed for boys and girls who are 4-6 years of age and have never played hockey. on. We have two ice times per week, once on Saturday and once on Sunday. Ice times are mid-afternoon (exact time tba) and are 45 minutes in length. 

This program is based upon skill development and fun. There are no games played in Hockey 1 because the focus is on skill development. Over the winter break we have a tournament at the Richmond Ice Centre where the children will have a scrimmage. The kids love this and many parents plan their holidays around these games. 

Richmond Minor Hockey has hired Pacific Elite Hockey School to run this program and is also available to mentor parents as future coaches for the children. The player’s ability to skate is not important because our coaches begin with the basics: falling down and getting up.
